Claire Cheeseman, executive assistant, shares some insight into her role.

What’s your role and how do you help clients?

I am an executive assistant based in the Birmingham office and I have worked at Gateley for over 20 years! During that time I have worked in the construction team dealing with housebuilder disputes and more recently, I have supported the Group HR Director and management team.

What does your day-to-day work consist of?

My role is varied, and no two days are the same which I really enjoy as it keeps me on my toes.

  • A large part of my current role is diary management – arranging meetings and reviewing diaries to make sure everything runs smoothly. I book trains, flights and hotel accommodation around the world as the need arises.
  • I am regularly brought in to assist on projects which largely involves inputting information from around the firm into one central place. I enjoy being able to manage such jobs and work independently on them.
  • I regularly deal with confidential information and assist in preparing meeting packs for the management board.

Has there been a particular highlight for you whilst with Gateley?

I have loved my time working at Gateley but the biggest highlight by far would be when I helped to organise a charity fun run which raised £30,000 for a local charity.
